About The Artist

NATALIE MARINO graduated from New York University and completed two years of graduate work at the New School For Social Research  before receiving her Master of Academic Art from the Academe of Bedriasense in Calvatone, Italy.  She is an award winning fine artist who has exhibited widely in museums, corporations and galleries. She is listed in "Who's Who In American Art", Rimeco's Catalogue of International Living Artists.  She has illustrated several story books and has hosted a televised cablecast show about the arts.  She presently lives and works in her New Jersey Studio.  She has developed a wide ranging number of genres in various media .  Her art has an inspiring beauty that draws from a variety of influences, including Old World, historical references, and natural elements .  She has been influenced by such varied artists as Boticelli, Egon Shiele, and the French Impressionists. She met Alice Neel in 1981 when Neel was in her eighties.  Marino was struck not only by the art of Neel but by the artists strong feminine character.  When asked which is her favorite media, Marino responds with a soft smile , " the dust from a butterfly's wing" she states. Indeed her work is as memorable as it is subtle.  Marino has won many grants and has worked with youth in painting murals around the urban area of inner city Patterson.  She can be reached by email at:  drkiana@aol.com

artist's statement

For me, art is an affirmation of humanity.  The beauty, the turmoil, the delicate lines and splendid color all combine in a unique creation to prove again and again that mankind is indeed made in the image of the Creator of all.   What stands between reality and art is the artist.  Through this one human creator, the artist, the world is able to connect with all human emotion.   This is the experience unique to man.  As I paint my fantasy, I long to know the person who will connect to what I am expressing.  I hope the images on this web site will inspire you.

Our business was founded in 1994 when we decided to "go public" with some long-held paintings. Response was immediately overwhelming. Starting from a retail  gallery located on the main street of Millburn/Short Hills ,  consisting of two stories filled with Art and antiques, and four employees, we developed to this virtual web site that is international in scope and focuses on the art of Marino.   Our business continues to grow and our main artist continues to be prolific in her work.
